Our annual Summer School will return to Benalmádena, Málaga, on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 May 2024 - save the date now to be sure that you can join us.

When: 13-14 May 2024
Where: Yusuf Hamied Center, Cudeca Institute for Training & Research, Benalmádena, Málaga, Spain

Registration for Summer School will open soon, but in the meantime we encourage prospective delegates to submit abstracts to share their research and best practice in end of life care. The abstract deadline is 31 January 2024.

What is Summer School?

Hosted by Fundación Cudeca, Spain's longest-established centre for hospice care, Summer School is a two-day programme of workshops for prospective, new, and established members of the Collaborative. It is an opportunity to meet mid-year and enjoy Spanish hospitality as Collaborative members progress key projects and prospective members learn about the 10/40 Model in the Andalucían sunshine.

Why should I attend?
  1. Global Expertise: This event brings together leading minds in palliative care, end-of-life management, and healthcare ethics. You'll have the chance to learn from the very best, gaining insights and knowledge that can reshape your approach to end-of-life care.

  2. Compassion-Centred Care: At the heart of Summer School is the belief that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserves compassionate and dignified care during their final days. Participants will explore the latest developments in end-of-life care and how to implement them effectively.

  3. Networking: Beyond the enriching sessions, you'll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals from all corners of the globe. Exchange ideas, forge new partnerships, and build a supportive network that can advance the cause of quality end-of-life care.

  4. Beautiful Setting: Benalmadena's stunning coastal backdrop offers the perfect environment for reflection and relaxation between sessions. It's an ideal setting to rejuvenate your mind and spirit.

  5. Impactful Insights: Whether you're a healthcare practitioner, researcher, educator, or someone passionate about improving end-of-life care, Summer School will equip you with practical tools and strategies to make a real difference in your field.

The International Collaborative extends a warm invitation to join us in Benalmádena this coming May as we work together towards achieving our vision: a world where all people experience a good death as an integral part of their individual life, supported by the very best personalised care.
